🎳 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Egr Valve Symptoms

I had read about the PCM update somewhere - there was also talk about it improving fuel consumption. I think it may well be worth a shot if things don't improve. Interestingly, if I put the car in neutral and rev it at around the 1500rpm range, it runs perfectly, no judder, no fluctuating revs, no rough running at all. Think the ECU measures the voltage when the EGR opens and closes and knows its not working. If I unplug the EGR it gives a fault code for high voltage. (And runs quite poorly) but the p1412 frozen EGR code doesn't reappear. It started a couple of months ago when the car wouldn't start, with an 'engine malfunction', which the local garage had diagnosed as the EGR stuck open. I had the EGR valve replaced and thought that would be Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Mk2 - Limp Mode, split in rubber hose / connector.
